1.  Get Real.

Don’t have unrealistic expectations regarding your body. Love your body the way it is. Loving your body and accentuating your positive attributes is far more attractive than being a bad impression of what you wish you were. Get real, and wear a swimsuit that makes you look great now – just the way you are!

2.  Get Fit.

Yes, we are all looking for that magic pill that will make us look great without the work, but that is just not realistic. Even a modest amount of exercise can make a huge difference. Tone up your arms with a few dumbbell repetitions, trim your core with ab workouts and tighten your butt and legs with squats. Getting fit will not only make you look great but you’ll feel great too!

3.  Get Sun.

Get out there and have some fun in the sun! Time in the sun increases the amount of serotonin in your brain which in turn boosts your mood. Everyone knows that a happy person with a smiling face is far more attractive than a grump with a sour face. Regardless of how you feel about your appearance, nothing can make you look better than getting a touch of sun. Even with the right amount of sunscreen – which you should wear at all times – the fact that you have played in the sun will shine through. And don’t forget the self-tanners which can work wonders when correctly applied.

4.  Get Serious.

About food that is. Experts say that 70% – 80% of weight control is determined by your food choices. Most people are clueless about how much they really eat because our culture makes it so easy to eat mindlessly. A great way to find out whether you are getting enough of the nutritious foods your body needs – and whether you are avoiding the junk foods that sabotage swimsuit fun – is to keep track with an easy to use food diary. Get serious about your food consumption and your body will reward with you a swimsuit ready body just in time for summer.
